What does Tobacco Cessation Services Provide? |
Madison County Health Department (MCHD)offers tobacco cessation
counseling services to pregnant women, who are patients of our clinic. We also provide limited tobacco cessation services to Madison County employees, residents, and other health department patients. In addition, we provide prevention and education services to Madison County Schools. Our goal is to increase tobacco cessation and prevent young people from becoming tobacco users. Pregnant Women that are tobacco users may receive:
•One on one counseling and guidance •Quit plans and strategic planning •Follow up phone calls •Referral and free resources •CO2 Monitoring •Tips on talking with provider about Nicotine Replacement Therapy Madison county employees, residents and other MCHD patients may receive: •CO2 Monitoring •Referral and free resources •Tips on talking with provider about Nicotine Replacement Therapy Madison County School students receive: •Tobacco education and prevention services through school assemblies and special events •School health fairs •Tobacco education as part of the standard health curriculum |
